Ohhh, it's beautiful! The colours you chose fit very well together, and I really like the design of the birds, too. You have an interesting, unique drawing style. I'm certainly going to have a look at the rest of your gallery now Thank you for sharing your artwork, and I hope you have a nice day.
I love this style. It's very organic, and the use of texture here is spectacular. The storytelling in this image is wonderful as well. The dots on the ground and the matching dots framing the top of the picture hold the viewer's attention very well, and the grass and foliage in general look surreal, giving this piece a very out-of-the-world feel. The circles in the sky, especially the one near the girl, look like halos, making me wonder if this is some kind of afterlife. The colour palette's mysterious as well--almost reminds me of Yoshitoshi Abe's Haibane Renmei drawings. The despair of the girl with the "halo" near her head makes me wonder if she's a representation of a more positive version of herself that is standing right in front of her. The road in front of them seems to lead to nowhere, but the girl in front looks positive and perhaps, may drag the negative version of her towards a brighter future.
By the way, I've given you a watch. I can't believe you've been on the site for 9 years, but have not even had a DD! I must change this
Thank you so much for this super kind comment. You've hit on a lot of what I was thinking about while making this piece. Both the girls really are the same person, and the circles in the sky are meant to be halos. Thanks too for mentioning Yoshitoshi Abe's drawings. I googled searched him after reading your comment only to remember I used to be obsessed with his work as a teenager. It is gorgeous work! I've always loved the Serial Experiments Lain drawings.
